The Chief

Eventually everyone in Vancouver hikes up The Chief.  I resisted for years after hearing that it was crowded and not nearly as interesting as other local hikes.  But the massive granite monolith looming over Squamish calls to you each time you pass by on the Sea-to-Sky highway.  So I finally gave in. And yes, it was crowded.  And yes, there are much better local hikes.  But at least it was mostly in the shade on a hot day.  And there a decent view from the top…
